Sandrix Helps
Hi,
I've asked for help a few times, but I came back to confirm.
I have four domain controllers in the same windows 2008R2 domain.
Site A - Server A and B
Site B - Server C and D
I noticed that in the past Windows 2003 was migrated to 2008R2, as there is still the FRS service started and replication information using FRS.
So the first step is to migrate to DFRS, so far ok.
However, I can only install two new servers with Windows 2019 on Site B and thus dismantle the old two with Windows 2008 R2.
My question is that until I dismount the servers at Site A I will need to keep the domain functional in 2008 R2.
If I do not decide to raise the functional level, even after discontinuing the servers at both sites, what will I be missing by maintaining at the functional level in 2008 R2?
Is the functional level related to GPOs, workstation version and others that can be entered in the domain?
Thanks.
