Windows XP Activation

Due to hard disk problems I have had to reinstall Win XP - this computer will not accept Win 10. I have a product key but cannot activate XP either by internet or phone, presumably because XP is no longer supported. Is there a solution, if not I presume I will be locked out after 30 days?
