Faulty Windows 10 after an update

Hello! My laptop, running Windows 10 started to lag a bit while I was playing a videogame two days ago. Thought this was just some minor glitch with the system, so I had to reboot. When it was booting up however, it displayed "installing updates" (didn't even know there was a pending update). After the installation, I signed in, only to discover the desktop was blank (black screen) with cursor. I couldn't access anything.

I have tried every workaround there is on the internet and none of them worked. They include:

1. Launching Task Manager (did not even launch) to reload Explorer.

2. Pressing Win+Alt+Shift+B to restart the graphics driver.

3. Launching System Restore, but failed because it was unable to extract some files.

4. Booting into Safe Mode to uninstall recently installed apps and running anti virus scan (did not work too).

5. Running CMD from recovery mode to perform "sfc scannow".

6. Resetting windows; it fails at around 30-40% (while plugged in too).

So today, I was finally able to see the desktop screen at least, but discovered that some of my drivers (graphics, audio, mouse, usb, etc) are gone and the laptop is now extremely laggy, even in safe mode and while booting up. No video plays and when I checked the graphics driver details, (Intel HD Graphics 520, now a Microsoft Basic Video Adapter), it shows N/A in most of the fields. Even key combos don't work anymore, as well as function keys for refreshing, playing/pausing media and volume control.

I could really use a fix please.
