Can users on 2003 AD access File share on windows 2016 server in a trusted forest?

we have

company A - lab.local

company B - mtlab.local having trusted forest relation ship.

there are users and shares in lab.local which is running 2003 AD.

we want to migrate only shares from 2003 AD to mtlab.local 2016 DFSR based file share along. This also involves user profiles as well hence absolute critical. Users are supposed to be migrated in a later phase.


Will the users from lab.local be able to access 2016 file share?
