Hi

I have a Windows Storage Server 2016 Workgroup edition licensed on a Buffalo TeraStation WS5220DN with software raid mirror ( no hw controller onboard and 2 disks only )

using diskpart :

disk 0 has Boot Disk : Yes

disk 1 has Boot Disk : No

the device has a software raid 1

DISKPART> select disk 0

Disk 0 is now the selected disk.

DISKPART> detail disk

Disk ID: {4450FE90-4F06-476F-9C20-3867D4E0E6F8}
Type : SATA
Status : Online
Path : 0
Target : 0
LUN ID : 0
Location Path : PCIROOT(0)#PCI(1400)#ATA(C00T00L00)
Current Read-only State : No
Read-only : No
Boot Disk : Yes
Pagefile Disk : Yes
Hibernation File Disk : No
Crashdump Disk : Yes
Clustered Disk : No

Volume ### Ltr Label Fs Type Size Status Info
---------- --- ----------- ----- ---------- ------- --------- --------
Volume 0 D Data NTFS Mirror 3625 GB Healthy
Volume 1 C NTFS Mirror 100 GB Healthy Boot
Volume 3 FAT32 Partition 100 MB Healthy Hidden

I expect the device will never boot with Disk 1 alone if Disk 0 is removed or corrupted

DISKPART> select disk 1

Disk 1 is now the selected disk.

avoiding any recovery scenario from backup or system recovery disk ( which I've tested and fully working from Buffalo Technologies for one disk only )

is it possible to manually set both disks to Yes

disk 0 has Boot Disk : Yes

disk 1 has Boot Disk : Yes

using diskpart or any powershell command on Windows Storage Server 2016 Workgroup edition ?

thank you
