EGhost_Reg_Fail

G

George Hampton

I have a Dell Computer with Windows XP and SP 2.
When I open my Internet Explorer (Comcast.Net) homepage, EGhost_Reg_Fail
always appears at the end of the blue bar Window Title. It also appears at
every site I go to. It's even at the blue bar at the top of this message.

I have had this in my computer for about 4 years, and have not been able to
identify it. I have unsucsessfully tried to remove it with numerous
anti-virus programs including Norton and McAfee. Also I've tried to identify
it with Microsoft's Malicious Software program.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. This is my first time on
this website.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
