Windows XP Online Activation Website

I remember a while back there was a website for windows xp from microsoft that allowed you to activate windows xp without telephone support. You would enter your activation ID into the website and it would give you the confirmation ID. I cannot find the website anywhere. Did microsoft remove the website? Also I vaguely remember it working for windows vista as well. I could be wrong though.
