Issue Installing Windows XP

I keep getting this blue screen error (0x0000007E) when trying to install windows xp, i don't have the option in my BIOS to change hard drive settings from SATA to IDE. Any ideas on how to fix this install error. It's windows XP service pack 3 CD.
