Access denied on share, how to reset to default security settings?

I get an Access Denied error from any PC in my workgroup trying to access a
share on one XPSP2 pro system. This XP system was removed from a secure
domain. Windows Firewall claims some settings are controlled by group policy.
How can I reset the security settings to the workgroup defaults so my file
share works properly? This is driving me nuts.

More info please...

When you state "...removed from a secure domain..." do you mean physically,
as in a machine discarded from an employer, or logically, as in the machine
was removed form the domain and rejoined to a workgroup?

What settings are coming from Group Policy? (note: "Group Policy" and the
Gpedit.msc console can be used to control the Local machine policy, separate
from domain/site/OU policy(ies)). If you run RSoP.msc, what if any settings
are showing precedence from other than the Local Policy?

Thanks for the RSoP.msc pointer. With that tool, I found and fixed the
offending GPO and local policy settings. I am most grateful for your help.
