WIndows 2016 Was Activated - Now It Isn't...Error 0x87E10BC6

My Windows 2016 Server was working well for about 8 months until recently when it became corrupted after the first reboot in a while.

I suspect updates had been installed, and upon reboot, whatever corruption happened made it unrecoverable. The server was activated back in October, but I had to add a new hard drive and install a fresh copy from the ISO I downloaded from Microsoft.

This installs as an evaluation version, but what was strange was the fact that Windows was activated, even though the lower right corner of the screen showed it was a 180 day evaluation version.

So I figured once I converted it to the Standard Version everything would be OK. So I ran the same DISM command that I did the first time around with the same product key, and ran into the same issue where it was stuck at 10% forever. I needed to get the server up and running, so I just quit the process and installed all the Windows Updates.

Upon reboot, the 180 day eval message in the lower rght corner was gone, but it was replaced by the "Activate Windows" message! So basically they had switched.

When I try to activate it, I get the message "Something prevented us from communicating with our activation servers. Wait a few minutes and then try again. Error code: 0x87E10BC6"

I googled the error message and tried a few different commands with no luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

-Ben
