HELP! Had Vista Basic, now have Business and can't activate!

Hi! I have an Acer notebook which came loaded with Vista basic. Recently
when I was out of town, a visiting friend of my husband decided we should
upgrade. (GRRR) Well, for some reason he went with Vista Business. I'm not
sure exactly how he did it, but it can not activate (error msg "DNS name not
found"). I don't want the Business version anyways! Unfortunately, we've
recently moved and I have no idea where our restore disks are! I did try to
do a System Restore to a previous time, but obviously, this didn't work. I
do have a legit key for Vista Home Basic and I would love to get this back.
(Currently, I'm having to function in reduced mode). Or is there a way to
take care of the error msg I'm receiving? Any suggestions? And, if (GRRR) I
have to buy a new license (if I don't find my disks soon!), do I buy an
upgrade, or do I have to go with the full version? I did use the Jellybean
key finder and the key I'm using to activate is what Jellybean found. Thanks
for any help! ~ Sam

If the recovery partition wasn't wiped out when your "friend" installed
Vista Business for you, power on the Notebook and do an alt+F10
to recover your machine to factory default.
Just make sure you have everything backed up that is important
before invoking the recovery process.
