This problem has developed over the last week. For some weeks I would lose my internet connection briefly at any time of day. The connection would quickly reset and all would be well. Recently though, I am unable to re connect at all when the connection is lost during the 3 - 8 pm (approximately) time frame. Resetting the modem and router and restarting the computer does not help the problem.
There have been no hardware changes since I added the ASUS RT-N300 router (which is wired to the modem) in 3/19.
My ISP (Spectrum) claims that the problem isn't in their part (which includes the modem)
The error message I get from the internet connection troubleshooter is: Windows could not automatically detect the server proxy settings.
The messages I get from the network troubleshooter are: "Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP address. AND The default gateway is not available.
The same problems occur when I remove the router and connect the ethernet cable directly to the modem.
I hope someone can offer some suggestions.
