Have to app servers, both running 2012 r2. Each machine has one USB device that SOMETIMES doesn't reconnect after the server is restarted. Each server also has other USB devices that never have the issue. They are not the same device. One is a thermostat and one is a UPS. Unplugging and re-plugging fixes them every time. Now looking for a pandemic friendly way to reset them.

One of them was fixed by uninstalling and re-installing the USB Root Hubs and telling the USB controller to scan for hardware changes. This didn't work with the other even after uninstalling EVERYTHING USB and restarting.
I saw this post which mentions this DevCon Utility from Microsoft but it looks like the screenshots are Windows 7 so I'm leery of trying this with my limited server knowlege.
So, two questions: #1. Does anyone know about this DevCon thing and whether it can be used with Server 2012 r2. #2. Is there some OTHER method of doing with reset, perhaps in a batch file?
