Using Teams with onpremise Active Directory and onsite Exchange 2016

[Remote access licences]

I have a client that wants to use basic video and chat for their remote users. The network is on-premise a Server 2016 domain controller and an Exchange 2016 server. Their Office applications are via E3 Office 365 subscriptions.



Can Teams be used in this scenario and what would need to be configured to get it to work?



They don't use SharePoint or OneDrive.
