Hello everyone. I have a problem that I can't seem to fix.
This happened when I was attempting to install a new monitor. I clumsily hit the cmos button on the back of my desktop. Had to reinstall windows
through a USB. My keyboard wasn't working afterwards however I was able to fix the issue by going to device manager, uninstalling the driver then clicking the allow this device to wake the computer checkbox. This was a few days ago. I had no issues until I received a microsoft update last night. When I woke up I found my keyboard unable to wake from sleep. Only able to access my computer after rebooting.
Things I've done to troubleshoot:
1. Went to device manager and uninstalled the driver to my keyboard. No luck
2. Disable USB selective suspend setting under power options.
3. enter my bios and allow usb to wake up the system.
4. update usb driver's for my motherboard. : MSI Z270 Gaming M7
5. My keyboard is connected to the usb port therefore I also went to device manager and uninstalled the drivers for the usb.
This works temporarily but then it reverts back to not being able to wake after sleep mode is enabled. : ASMedia USB Root Hub
5a. I attempted to select allow this device to wake the computer for my usb's but it's grayed out.
6. I also attempted to enable my devices by using the command "powercfg -deviceenablewake" but it says I don't have the permission to enable the device. ( I run command prompt in admin mode)
I'm at a loss of what to do next. I'm sure it's going to be a simple answer but right now I'm scatterbrained.
