You could just leave media player open and enjoy some music while you
use your computer..

I can't type more than 1 or 2 keystrokes in ANY application without
Windows Media Player starting up! I have to close the window, then I
get to type 1 more character, and boom, it opens up again.

This is ridiculous--the computer (Toshiba Laptop) is less than 1 month
old, and only has been installed with BitDefender and Verizon DSL
software-- and very light web use!.

This bug renders the machine virtually useless. And you can't
uninstall WMP 11!

Anyone experience this?

That is certainly not normal behavior. My Toshiba laptop has no issues.
Go to Toshiba support and download the drivers and the newer BIOS.

Click then Select Aother Model.

Have you programed any Hot Keys to start MP11 such as the Flash Cards?
Loaded any new software that uses MP11? Contact Toshiba support if needed.

Ctrl - Alt -Esc is Task Manager look for running programs.
Also check in Defender for running processes.
