cd rom does not work anymore

i didnt use my cd rom for a long time and then after i moved my computer i
tried to insert a disc to play a game and it did not read the disk please help

Check Device Manager and DELETE the CD-ROM and reboot.
It will be initialized again.

This also applies - delete the Upper and Lower Filters if still not working

i did that then the CD-rom was gone and didnt come back up.

Spirit

Check the System Maker/CD-Rom Maker's site for a new driver
and/or BIOS. I would also remove and re-attach the CD-Rom
cables. You could have a bad CD-Rom.

Did you follow the tips on the other links and reboot?

yes i followed the tips on the other links and it still didnt work.How do u
check the system maker and for a new drriver or bios.

Spirit

You go to whoever made the system, motherboard, hard drive,
video card and other installed parts and look for drivers for
Vista and you model. Usually in their SUPPORT sections.
