Indexing loses the last week or two after a rebuild

I notice this on Outlook, but maybe it affects all Windows searches: I search for a an email and thought there are emails from yesterday, Outlook only finds them from a week earlier and earlier than that. I rebuild the index, then all is OK for a bit until after a day, or sometimes a few hours, an Outlook search will only show results from a week ago (not always exactly a week, so don't key on that). I've gone through this cycle at least 20 times. I have the latest versions of Windows and Outlook/Office.


Any thoughts?
