I hope somebody can help me. I have not worked on computers or servers in some time. The company I work for is running an evaluation version of 2008 R2 windows domain server. Eventually we want to get to 2019. Me being the only one here that has ever worked on computers was asked to make this happen. I have checked the hardware requirements and those are fine. I was thinking I could do this cheaply and simply upgrade from the retail version of 2008 to an evaluation version of 2008 r2 and from their just keep upgrading evaluation versions until 2019 and buy the license for that one. However, I should of done more research to see if that is even a possibility between evaluation versions. Does anybody know if this is possible and if so why I would keep getting an incompatibility error between the 2008 r2 evaluation version (gui) and the 2012 r2 evaluation version (gui)?
