No authority to open PDFs

My PDF files tell me I do not have permission to access the files and to contact the file owner or admin to obtain permission. A couple days ago I locked myself out of my D drive when trying to create a guest account and limit guest access, microsoft help logged in remotely and regained access to the D drive for me but I didn't check any pdf files at that stage, I'm guessing its related when I locked myself out?
