Hello!
I am attempting to setup a PPTP VPN from my domain controller (Server 2016) which has RRAS setup. Basic install of RRAS has been done - DirectAccess & VPN and Routing ticked when adding the role -> Deploy VPN only -> configured RRAS for VPN Access and NAT.
When trying to connect to the VPN via a machine on another network, I get the following error: "A connection between your computer and the VPN server has been established but the VPN connection cannot be completed. The most common cause for this failure is that at least one Internet device (for example, a firewall or router) between your computer and the VPN server is not configured to allow Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) protocol packets. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator or Internet Service Provider."
I have port forwarded 1723 and 47 on the router and also opened them on the server firewall (inbound and outbound).
VPN on the client machine is setup to use PPTP instead of automatic. I have also tried configuring L2TP to test (also port forwarded for this etc) but this also did not connect.
Does anyone have any recommendation on what I can try?
I would like to say I have a decent knowledge on VPN's but the skills I lack include NAT and a few other things which I might be overlooking - so any help will be grateful. I can of course provide more info and details if needed.
Thanks in advance
