Hello, I have installed Windows Server 2003 x64 Standard on a dual socket
Quad Core Blade. My app administrator has already installed Sql 2005
Enterprise. Being that this is the first 8 core system I had ever installed,
I forgot that Windows Server standard only uses 4CPU's while enterprise can
handle 8CPU's. In this situation does this still hold true? Or is it the
number of sockets that is important? Basically I would like to know whether I
need to upgrade the OS and if so can I just do an in-place upgrade as we have
production code on it now?
Thank you for your help!
