Age of Mythology not working on Windows 8

I read that more than me have an issue to run this game in Win8.1. I have as previous threads tested diffrent compability modes, but so far i have not managed to get it to start. AdamGruder (i think his name was) got it to work, but not mentioning how. I wonder if any one has a solution to this? Or can point me in the right direction to a soluting.
