Hello,
We are migrating from a 3rd party AV to Windows Defender and I'm having a problem with server core:
1. Uninstall 3rd party AV and reboot
2. There is a group policy then to enable windows AV - the registry show the keys are okay in server 2016 with and without the GUI
3. The service remains set as manual in both GUI and no GUI. If I try to start the service I get the error 'Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file'
4. Logging onto a GUI server and running the defender program allows me to enable defender which sets the service to 'automatic' and it all looks good
5. There is no equivalent GUI in server core so how can I do the same as (4)?!?
I've tried setting the service start to Auto which made no difference
I can see that 'Windows defender features' are installed in server manager for the core servers.
Please help as I'm out of ideas
Adrian
