I would like to ISO my existing xp os and software to use in a virtual machine.

The existing HDD is not full, but does not have room for an ISO file that includes the software I am saving. Should I create the ISO file with the drive slaved in a working Windows 10 machine? Not sure of the best way to make sure I have a bootable OS ISO file with all my software intact when I am finished.
