upgrade to windows 10

Hello, I'm Yvonne, and hope that someone can walk me thru this daunting task I prolonged. I need to upgrade my system from an old, & outdated Microsoft Vista originally installed on my pc I purchased in 2008. My question is, can I purchase the Windows 10 home version program online, and download to my pc, or do I need to purchase a new pc.


Any help would be appreciated, for i am not at all computer savy.
