Problem with local account for work versus Microsoft Account

Hello. When lockdown began and I started needing to work from home, I created a separate local account/profile on my laptop. I share my laptop with my husband so wanted a profile to use for work where only I have the password. I did NOT want to use or create a Microsoft Account for this. I set up a separate profile pic and desktop background to distinguish it from my normal Microsoft Account. This has been fine so far, as I do most of my work within my work's VPN, with just accessing emails, etc. outside the VPN using my work's web-based Outlook app, and the desktop version of Teams.

However, the other day I had a particular need to use full Microsoft Word outside the VPN, so signed into it with my own personal (not work) Microsoft Account so that I could access my Microsoft Office 365 subscription. Since then, Windows insists on signing me in to everything within the local profile, and has changed my profile picture and desktop background to match my personal Microsoft Account settings. Is there anyway to access my Office subscription within the local profile without it changing everything else? And is there a risk that Windows could somehow sign me out of my work email and into my personal hotmail account or anything? Thanks for any advice.
