Thumbnail view doesn't work anymore - Win ME

My Windows ME wont show thumbnails in Explorer anymore after
installing an MPEG to WMV converter for YouTube.

Either SoftPepper, Aglare, Apex, or SmartSoft seems to be the culprit,
I'm not sure which one.

I tried uninstalling them all, no luck.

I tried the regsvr32 shimgvw.dll, regsvr32 thumbvw.dll etc fixes, none
of them worked.

Returns error message:

LoadLibrary("shimgvw.dll") failed
GetLastError returns 0x0000001f.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

*And* running System Restore back to BEFORE the problem started?

None of them worked.

There is some good stuff in there though, I'm definitely going to
bookmark that link for future reference.

Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.

Happy holidays guys.

None of them worked>>>

Did you try the System Restore to a point before the thumbnails quit????
This is reversible, so, no harm in trying.
