Hello
We're currently working on a server with a single 1TB hard drive, split as 80GB for the C: drive and the remaining amount for data storage (drive D
Now, we're running out of space on the C: partition, so our idea was to install a second hard drive (a new 2TB hard drive), move the data storage portion of the original hard drive (drive D onto the new hard drive, then delete the original data partition, extend the existing C: drive so it uses the entire original hard disk drive and rename the new 2TB drive D: so that shared folders are still pointing in the same direction as before.
So far, so good.
The only 'problem' we have is that the SYSVOL and NETLOGON folders are on the original data storage location (drive D
Can we just move the SYSVOL and NETLOGON folders to the new 2TB hard drive and rename the new 2TB drive to drive letter D: so that everything is in the same location or is this going to cause all sorts of problems?
Thank you, Chris.
