I recently finished building my new PC and installed Windows 10 Home x64. It was running completely fine all day yesterday, and then suddenly the MEMORY_MANAGEMENT blue screen occurred. Since then Windows has failed to start and instead gets caught in a bsod loop, the most common stop codes being MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and ATTEMPTED TO WRITE READ ONLY MEMORY.
The things I tried to solve the issue:
- boot in safe mode from windows recovery (resulted in SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION bsod)
- run chkdsk C: /r and /f (/f couldn't be completed the first time, but completed successfully after the /r one completed.)
- sfc /scannow (couldn't complete but I don't remember what the error message was, sorry)
- reseat my ram
- reseat and check sata cables for my ssd
Since these didn't work and I had barely any files anyway, I decided to try and just do a completely clean reinstall of Windows. This I tried to do twice from the USB containing the installation media I used to first install and boot Windows 10 Home x64, and the first time I got the ATTEMPTED TO WRITE READ ONLY MEMORY bsod, the second time I got the SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION bsod.
System information:
- STRIX B250F GAMING motherboard
- Intel Core i5-7500 CPU @3.40GHz
- Speed: 3400MHz
- Memory: 16384 MB (DDR4 2400MHz) (2x corsair sticks in the correct DIMM slots)
- Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB
The memory is overclocked using the default profile#1 setting in X.M.P. I've tried the above solutions with this disabled, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Hope I included enough info, thanks in advance! Happy to try anything at this point.
