Hi

I'm a windows admin in a company where I create lot of servers.

VM's or physical.

When I install a server I create a C drive, and this only have to be 100 GB.

But I also create some data drives.

If it's a VM I have to go to disk mangaer in windows and "start" the data drive and give it letter and so on.

But if I dont choose GPT it will create a basic MBR partition.

Why is'nt GPT set as default today in new servers?

Any good reason for that?

My problem is that I have created several VM's with a 2 TB drive basic disks.

And now we need to make drives bigger than 2 TB.

But we can't without changing them to GPT.

I can see this maybe can be done without data loss

Thats another story..

But it would be better if default just was GPT when creating the disk.

Any reason for that it's not default GPT?
