Theory -- this is File Association, documented in
on-line Help.

Practice: 1. Select the correct application to open
Binder Documents.
2. Assign that app monopoly control over BDs.

Just before I get I get shot from Shell following my advice in another
thread, I think Phillipson may be right about it being a file
association problem.

(a) What is the "Binder" application of which you speak?
(b) Does it have a way in its menus to disassociate file types?
(c) Name some of the file types involved. Those are the last 3
letters of the file name, after the final dot in the name.

To disassociate it, if there is no menu way AND you are sure it needs to
be disassociated...

"START button, Settings, Folder Options, File Types tab".

Use the D-Arrow to slowly scroll the list, all the while looking for
that file type to appear at "Extension:". At long last, while it is
highlighted, click "Remove". If the extension is, for instance, ".xyz"
you may first quickly scroll the list & look for "XYZ File". Remove that
one.

Perhaps, instead of removing it, when highlighted...

(a) Click the Edit button.
(b) Highlight "open" in the Actions window.
(c) Hit the Edit button.
(d) Copy out & post the "Application used to perform the action".
