Windows DVD Maker does not work, unable to create DVDs on my Windows 7 laptop

Hello. Please can you assist me to get Windows DVD Maker program running properly.

My PC is a Toshiba C660 Satellite laptop running Operating System Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64. I can launch and run the program ok.

I have added 6 videos to a new project in Windows DVD Maker, the pie chart in the bottom left shows 135 of 150 minutes. I am using the Video Wall Menu Style.

I have not changed the Menu text, Play text, Scenes text, or Notes text.

Font I am using is Arial.

I click on Burn, and it says encoding. It gets to 1.0% encoding, then after a second or two, jumps to 4.2% and then after another second the encoding progress jumps all the way to 99%, the DVD tray opens and diagnostic popup screen comes up with message ‘Cannot create the DVD’, an error occurred when burning the DVD.’

When I first place in a DVD, before I do anything, I right click on the DVD drive, and click on Erase Disk. Just to make sure it's blank.

I have tried burning DVD-RW and DVD+RW, I get the same results with both type disks.

I have also tried two settings ‘Fastest’ burn, and ‘medium’ burn. Both unsuccessful, similar behaviour and diagnostic at 99%.

Something is wrong with the Windows DVD Maker software itself. This is upsetting because I bought this laptop with the standard W7 software package of which Windows DVD Maker is a part, so I’ve paid for this program. And in theory it should work, without me having to search for and pay extra for a different DVD make program.

Is there a known fix for Windows DVD Maker please, or does Microsoft no longer support that specific program?
