I just bought a brand new HP laptop with Windows 10 which came with a DVD player. I bought the Microsoft DVD program and downloaded it to my machine. While the DVDs play normally, if I pause playback to go do something and the machine enters sleep mode, when I come back and try to watch the DVD from where I paused it, the sound track is detached from the picture and the picture has becomes a mass of tiny little squares of assorted colors. I have to stop playback and restart the DVD from the beginning. This has occurred on every DVD I have tried to play so I know it is not the disks. So is it a hardware or software problem? And if it is hardware and I have to send the machine back, what happens to the MS Office and DVD player software I purchased? Am I just screwed out of my purchase price?
