hi Team,
I am using a Dell Vostro 3578 with Windows 10 Pro - insider build 20H2 ( 19042.330). At least a month ago I was able to setup a mobile hotspot and very well able to connect my mobile and other home devices to wifi network. However , recently when I wanted to switch mobile hotspot on, it says it can't. The toggle switch keeps moving back to 'off' position. All I have done in last one month is:
Updated Wifi and Ethernet adapters from the Dell site to the latest version.
Also upgraded Windows 10 from 20H1 to 20H2 insider. Serached around the internet and found that in order for mobile hotspot to work 'Hosted Network supported ' should be 'Yes'. Currently it is a 'No', when check on CMD using the command - netsh wlan show drivers.
Output is as below:
C:\Users\xxxxx>netsh wlan show drivers
Interface name: Wi-Fi
Driver : Qualcomm QCA9377 802.11ac Wireless Adapter

I do not know what changed but I can tell for sure it used to work so smoothly recently but no longer can I even set it up. I do not wish to re install Windows 10 with Stable (non insider ) build, OR keep that as last option.
1. So far I have tried to uninstall and completely remove the Qualcomm drivers that I had downloaded from Dell site.
2. tried 'netsh wlan start hostednetwork' on elevated CMD, was presented the error below:
C:\WINDOWS\system32>netsh wlan start hostednetwork
The hosted network couldn't be started.
The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation.
3. From the Ethernet Adapter properties> Sharing tab> ICS: checked both check boxes allowing ICS
4. I do not have the 'Microsoft Hosted Network Virtual Adapter in Device Manager ( not sure if that is the cause, or how to if I have to get it back)
Nothing has helped so far. I would like to use mobile hotspot as earlier, kindly suggest what do I need to try.
