Where has my sound gone?

Hoock The Spook

Due a corrupt registry file I had to reinstall Vista Home Edition - not a
great drama and everything went fine except that my sound has disappeared!!

I have:

1. Checked correct speaker plug input to the deck
2. Checked that no Mute controls are set
3. Checked speakers on another PC - they are AOK
4. Uninstalled and reinstalled the sound card drivers
5. Tested the hardware under troubleshooting

.................. nothing!

Why would a reinstall cause this problem I wonder?

Have you checked the card manufacturer's website for the latest Vista
compatible drivers.
