Can not download windows media player on windows OS XP

I lost my windows media player on my laptop with OS windows XP. I can find the program WMP.exe, however, it will not open the program so i can access my music.

I even went to the Safe Mode and tried the download on www.file.hippo with no luck.

Please help! Thank you!
