So, last Thursday our Comcast dropped out. Was without internet all weekend. The guy comes in yesterday, replaces the line and gets service restored to our wi-fi devices (phones tablets laptops), but my hard-wired ethernet connected PC still can't connect to anything. It displays Connection Active on the task bar, but won't actually connect to anything.
Here is what I have tried, based on some googling of the problem.
- I have uninstalled the network adapter in Device Manager and rebooted. No fix.
- I have tried Network Reset in the Network settings panel. No fix.
- I have ran "netsh int ip reset" in Command Prompt. No fix.
- I have ran ip config /flush dns, ip config /renew, and ipconfig /reset in Command Prompt. No fix.
- I have cleared Firefox cache. No fix.
- I have confirmed my Network Adapter has IPV4 and IPV6 enables, and is on Automatic Detect for DNS and IP address settings
I'm at my wits end to what I can do to get this working again. Steam, Spotify, Discord, Firefox, Edge, all are affected. I have no functional internet on my hard-wired PC even though Windows says I do.
