Installing Vista printer drivers on Windows Server 2003 R2

My organisation has a Windows Server 2003 R2 print server, and mainly XP
clients, but are introducing some Vista clients. When you go to add a
printer driver on the server, there is no option to install one for Vista,
which isn’t surprising because Server 2003 R2 was released before Vista, but
is a patch available to resolve this problem?

You have to install the print driver from a Vista x86 or x64 computer
(whichever driver you need). You have to be logged on as a user with
appropriate permissions to add a driver on the server. Browse to
\\printserver\printers Press Alt-F, Server Properties, Drivers tab.

Hello Kerry,
Thanks for your posting, but the add printer driver wizard will still not
show Vista on the Processor and Operating System selection window.

If you pick x86 or x64 it will add the appropriate Vista driver.
