activation key issue

i have dell insprion 3521 with pre-installed windows 8 but my hard disk got crashed due to which i replaced my hard disk and i didn't updated my windows to 8.1 now how can i get my activation key and also if i get my activation key then how can i use it in windows 8.1 because windows 8 is not available now

please help me to solve my problem
