Screen brigtness changing when on battery

Hi,

Whenever my laptop goes into battery mode the screen dims. I've tried to match the brightness when in battery mode and when plugged in, but it still dims when going into battery mode.

I've turned off battery saver and checked power settings (no option to change or set anything) and have run an SFC but nothing is working.

Any ideas as this is driving me made due to a flaky power cable the screen constantly dims and brightens.
