I've tried to open my word documents on my Windows 8 and I can see the document but then a message come up saying that my

api-ms-win-core-version l1 - 1 -1- dll is missing and I have to try reinstalling the program to fix the problem. I've looked on line but don't know what it legitimate and not. Should I have to pay for something to download or is this the end of my laptop?
