I am currently trying to start a mid 2000's game which requires the driver SecDRV.SYS to be running to check the disc is inserted to validate ownership, previously on Windows 7 the driver has worked fine (I have not played the game (Command & Conquer: Generals - Delux Edition) in ages.) Does anyone know how to unblock this driver from loading, or more importantly start the game?
I have tried all the methods online which have claimed to previously worked, such as starting it in an elevated command prompt (Both as SYSTEM and Administrator), by modifying the registry and by using MMC to start the service on boot as SYSTEM and as myself.
Here is what the error looks like in the command prompt (Its the same with or without elevation):
C:\Users\archie>sc start secdrv
[SC] StartService FAILED 1275:
This driver has been blocked from loading
I am running Windows 10 Pro Version 2004 (OS Build 19041.388)
