I have an HP Omen gaming laptop. Before I get into the issue I've been facing, I'm going to list some information about my device below just in case it could be of use:
System Model: OMEN by HP Laptop 15-dc0xxx
System Type: x64-based PC
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2208 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s)
Total Physical Memory: 8GB (7.81GB usable)
Graphics Card(?): NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050
Storage Usage: 552GB of 930GB used
(If any other information is needed, please ask)
I've had this laptop for about a year now and I've had the same reassuring issue; my disk space and memory get eaten up as if I was playing games on a Windows XP. It doesn't make games unplayable, but I get often yet intermittent lag spikes as I try to play. I'm far from technologically astute, so I haven't a clue as to how and fix this. I've tried restarting, updating, and even re-updating my NVIDIA drivers, **** around in the command prompt, turning off Sysmain, and a bunch of other trivial ways to try and fix it. I was able to somewhat get my disk space under control, however, my memory gets to 100% the minute I try to play a game and stays at a consistent 60%-70% when I'm at my desktop. Granted, that's with Steam, Discord, and sometimes Chrome open, but I know for a fact that these apps shouldn't be killing my memory like this. Does anybody know how to fix this so that my PC can run faster and so I can play games without having spikes every ten seconds? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Edit: My disk space sucks again too :')
