Hello there,
since I last reinstalled and updated Vista in July, things seem to get worse.
I have 4 computers (2 Vistas and 2 XP), and now I'm having 0x80244019 on three of them (the 4th one is currently out of use).
On those 2 which run Vista the Update Center starts with "Check for updates" instead of "Windows is up to date" (which I could see back in July).
On XP machine the Update Center starts just as it used to but after clicking "receive custom updates" I see red ball and error 0x80244019.
Just a month ago I could see 2 redundant updates instead of that.
What I have already tried: net stop/start wuauserv, etc., uninstalled AVG
(in some cases it does affect - for instance, it causes Windows Assessment Tool error on Win 7),
applied rootsupd.exe - no effect.
On Windows 7 (which I have on my netbook) I receive updates for Security Essentials via Windows Update Center as always.
Does it mean that finally Microsoft has killed the update server for these 2 systems (Vista & XP)?
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Peter.
