Is Windows XP Compatible On My Desktop?

So I purchased a used HP Compaq Elite 8000 CM from Craigslist, and it had Linux Debian installed on it. I would like to reinstall Windows onto it (the previous owners removed Windows completely so there is no dual boot option), but the software I would like to use on it functions best in Windows XP. Are its specs okay for XP? It has 4GB of RAM, Intel Core processor, and was made for Windows 7. Thanks for the help!
