I have a hp 15 TS Notebook laptop.
The problem I am having is windows will not read a purchased DVD movie.
It will read game CD's and DVD's as well as software CD's and DVD's also CD's and DVD's that I have written my self.
I have checked with 10 different DVD movies all of which play in DVD players and well as a windows 7 computer.
I have uninstalled the CD/DVD device in device manager and restarted computer, this did not help
I am running windows 10 home 1909 OS and it is all up to date.
I have checked HP for new drivers as well as checked for driver updates in device manager.
It has been quite some time ago but this laptop use to read purchased DVD's Though I have always used VLC to play movies.
I do have VLC installed and up to date.
I do not know what else to try.
thank you for any help
Edit: If I right click on the CD/DVD drive in windows explorer, Play in not in the menu. If I click on open it ejects the DVD and says "please insert disk"
