Please help me access files I've accumulated on XP Professional since 2008.
XP is on a Dell Inspiron 530s designed for XP 1998+ and manufactured on 10/13/2008. I have more info on the Dell if you need it, just tell me what's important.
Until a few weeks ago XP wouldn't even start. I replaced the battery (CR2032) and now I see a black screen with two lines - press F1 to continue and F2 to setup.
F1 - A. Can't start, missing or corrupt: \windows\system32\config\system
B. Attempt to repair - Windows setup using original setup cd- rom, select "r" @ 1st screen.
F2 - Phoenix - Awardbios Cmos Setup Utility
System info Power management setup
Std Cmos features Load defaults
Advanced Cmos features Set supervisor password
Boot device config Set "user" password
Advanced chipset features Save & exit
Integrated peripherals Exit without saving
