Hello,
I hope someone can help; I've been trying to fix this problem for months. I have about 70-80 shortcuts on my Windows 10 PC Desktop. I keep them arranged to my taste, and when I make any changes, I create a new restore point, just in case. I have also started taking a screenshot of my desktop when I make a number of changes. My problem: EVERY SINGLE TIME my PC does an automatic reboot, or after I do a manual reboot, THE SHORTCUT ICONS ARE JUMBLED ALL OVER THE PLACE! I've been advised to uncheck the auto-arrange feature. Did it. A couple of Microsoft advisors said to go to Settings - Personalization - Themes, then uncheck the box allowing Themes to Change Desktop Icons, Apply, OK. Done that. Many times. I've gone right to the "Desktop Icons Box" and tried various things there. NOTHING WORKS!! There MUST be a way to have my desktop icons reappear in the SAME EXACT PLACES after a reboot. PLEASE....SOMEONE....I need some NEW IDEAS! Thank you for your time and help! God Bless!
