Windows 7 can't add files to Windows DVD Maker

When I click Add Items, it does nothing, like I didn't click it at all. So, I set the options which I needed to do anyway. Nothing. I tried File, New, but it doesn't change anything. I've never tried to use this before. I restarted my machine. No change. Any ideas why it won't let me add a file? It has nothing to do with the type of file because it doesn't get that far.
